Evelyn V. Lootens Evelyn V. Lootens, 100, a long-time resident of Batavia, died Sunday, May 15th at River Glen of St. Charles. She was born July 22, 1921, in Chicago, Illinois to David and Jennie Nelson. Following the untimely death of her father, her mother married John Werdin, who adopted Evelyn and David. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Edward Lootens Sr. and by a grandson, Chad Lootens. She is survived by her brother, David Werdin (Lynette), three sons, Edward Jr. (Emilia), Philip (Mary), and Robert (Kathie) and one daughter, Mary Gould (Steven), 9 grandchildren, and 13 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday May 22, 2022, at Moss Family Funeral Home 209 South Batavia Avenue, Batavia, IL 60510. Funeral services will begin 10:00 A.M Monday, May 23, 2022, from Moss Family Funeral Home, Batavia before proceeded to Holy Cross Catholic Church, 2300 West Main Street, Batavia, IL to celebrate Mass at 10:30 A.M. Rev. Jonathan Bakkelund will officiate. Interment will follow in River Hills Memorial Park, Batavia. Contributions in her memory may be directed to the River Glen Employee Appreciation Fund, River Glen of St. Charles, 975 North 5th Avenue, St. Charles, IL 60174.
