Eunice Tarver Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Jul. 12 to Jul. 13, 2022.
Eunice Clara (Claire) Tarver, 95, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday morning, July 10, 2022, at home peacefully. She was born in Lufkin, Texas to Hosea Jones and Clara Victoria Hambrick Jones (Bigmomma) on October 13, 1926.

A resident of Conroe, TX for almost seven decades, Eunice was a lover of all animals, an active runner, and a member of the VFW Ladies' Auxiliary. She participated in work with the local library and police station and was a member of a number of local congregations, most recently The Ark Church.

She was blessed to be surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren in the greater Conroe area-a true matriarch. A sharp mind and soft heart, the family often gathered around the newest of Eunice's verses or a particularly difficult crossword puzzle clue.

She was a devoted daughter of Jesus Christ and led her five children to a relationship with Him. She was comforted by her favorite verse, Psalm 46:10, "Be still, and know that I am God."

Eunice was a lifelong Elvis Presley fan. In her own words, "I'm a blonde babe, a bit bold...Real glad I rocked and rolled!"

She is survived by five children, Vicki Caswell (Bill), Reed Tarver, Laura Tarver, Billy Tarver (Brita), and Janet Anderson; ten grandchildren, who affectionately referred to her as "Memomma", Collin Caswell (Amy), Jennifer Caswell, Jaime Vest, Robert Allen, Michael Allen (Lezlie), Chris Tarver (Danielle), Sarah Anderson (Enrique), Judd Messer (Caroline), Laura Anderson (Navid), Matt Tarver (Madison); ten great-grandchildren, Morgan Caswell, Emily Caswell, Jeffrey Vest, Cole Caswell, Kyle Caswell, Jamie Millo, Southern Allen, Griffin Allen, Austyn Allen, and Marlee Tarver; two nieces, Pam Courtney (Robert) and Pat Reeves (Harold); and many loving friends and extended family, including her beloved cat, "Molly".

The family thanks Jo Lynne Santore, her primary caregiver, and Jennifer Lopez, Kim Marriott, and Doyle Ives of Heart to Heart Hospice for the loving care afforded to Eunice until the end.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 14, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. in The Chapel at Conroe Funeral Directors with Chaplain Doyle Ives officiating. Interment will follow in Garden Park cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, July 13, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. 1504 N. Thompson St., Conroe, TX 77301.
