ODESSA - "Dad... Your life was a blessing; your memory a treasure. You were loved beyond words and will be missed beyond measure."

Faustino (Tino) Pompa Larrea was born in Ordway, Colorado on July 29, 1929 and received his heavenly wings on Thursday, August 10, 2017. He lived most of his years in Odessa, TX when at the age of 17, Tino met and married the love of his life, Aurora Bersosa Larrea.

Tino is preceded in death by his father, Santiago Larrea; mother, Martha Larrea; sisters, Herminia Madero, Elvira Salazar, Clelia Gonzalez; brother, Manuel Larrea and beloved grandson, Nathan Dean Davis.

To cherish his memory, he leaves behind his beloved wife, Aurora and daughters, Adela Larrea Vasquez (Gilbert Vasquez), MaryAnn Larrea McCoy (Judge Bill McCoy); son's Faustino (F.B.) Larrea and Danny Larrea Norton (Sabra McKinney); granddaughters, Monica Vasquez Tschauner (Chris) Tschauner), Allison Larrea Peters (Chris Peters), Cabria (Bria) Larrea, Amanda Norton; grandsons, Patrick Vasquez (Joanna Aynesworth-Vasquez, Skylar Norton; great grandchildren, Lindsey Elizabeth Tschauner, Christian Lee Tschauner, Cade Tschauner, Kylie Larrea, Sophia Peters, Genevieve Vera Vasquez, Elijah McQueen, Ethan McQueen and Madison Norton; brothers, Faustino (Tino) C. Larrea and Santiago C. Larrea; sister, Consuelo Lavender. Tino also leaves behind a host of friends made during his many years in the carpet flooring industry as well as in the horse-racing industry.

Dad was our hero with a history of survival. He grew up in poverty, but he had a vision of one day getting out of it through his hardworking ethics. Through many times of struggles, he established and owned Tino's Carpet Repair and Installation. He worked long hours laying carpet to provide for his family during the mid-50's. He was known as the founding carpet layer of Odessa when carpet was considered a luxury item in homes and businesses. He employed and trained the first crew of much needed carpet layers who went on to establish their own carpet businesses. He was a strategic mathematician and could measure homes and huge building areas in a matter of hours. Dad was also well known in the horse racing arenas and loved his horses. He laid carpet on his knees, but at night, he was on his knees giving thanks to God for every blessing he had. He learned that through hard work he could own a home, a car, a boat and provide college education for his children. His biggest asset, however was his heart of gold. He helped family members, friends and churches he attended throughout his life. He was loved by many and will eternally be missed.

Viewing will be held at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home.

Rosary will be at 7:00 pm, Sunday, August 13, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Funeral Home Chapel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am, Monday, August 14, 2017 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Frank Chavez, celebrant. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Mr. Larrea was the sweetest, most kindest patient I had on 9c, and truly made being a nurse worth it. He has made the biggest impact on my career.. I am so saddened by this news but, am also so grateful for the short time I got the pleasure of taking care of him. I send my thoughts and prayers to his girls and the rest of the family. -Mattie, 9c nurse.

To the Larrea family, my most sincerest condolences, Faustino will be missed. He was one to walk quietly with strength but when he spoke people would listen. His integrity, wisdom of thought and compassion were strengths he illustrated daily in how he did things. He was a leader whom local people often sought his thoughts and advice. He will be remembered and missed by those who knew him and respected who he was in reality.
