Billy Drennan Obituary
Billy was born on August 25th, 1942 in Nashville, Tennessee. Preceded in death by parents William Theodore and Bernadena Drennan and brother Joe Drennan. He graduated from Father Ryan High School Class of 1960. William married Angela Kohl on December 26, 1962 at Cathedral of the Incarnation in Nashville, TN. William is survived by his devoted wife, Angela, his sons; William Paul Jr. (Doc) Michael, Matthew (Amelia), and his daughter, Dena (Lee Rutledge), and his grandchildren; Lauren, Ryan, Will, Kate, Matilda, Madoc,and unborn great granddaughter, Willow Rose. He is also survived by his sister, Jean Dortch (Bill), sister-in-law, Rose Drennan, and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Bruce Richards, Dr. Robert Christenberry, Dr. Don Chomsky and his LVAD staff, and the excellent team of nurses in J Pod and the fourth floor at St. Thomas West Hospital for their love, concern, and compassionate care.
Billy was an active parishioner at St. Ann Catholic Parish in Nashville and a committed friend of Bill W. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be terribly missed.
Visitation will be on Friday, February 28th from 4:00-8:00 at Marshall-Donnelly-Combs with a Rosary at 7:30 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 1st at 1:00 p.m. at St. Ann Catholic Church. Pallbearers will be his 11 nephews. Honorary Pallbearers are his grandsons, William Andrew Rutledge and Madoc John Drennan.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests with gratitude that contributions be made to the American Heart Association or to St. Ann Catholic Church.
Arrangements under the direction of Marshall Donnelly Combs Funeral Home, Nashville, Tennessee.

Angela, Anna and I just heard today of Billy's passing. I had talked to Jean for the first time in years and she told me Billy was having heart issues. I lost my husband, Ted, in 2009 due to his heart. So sorry for your loss, our deepest sympathy. Melba and Anna

I had the honor and priviledge of being Mr. Drennan's nurse for several days on 4A. In nursing, there are patients that sometimes touch you in a way that you cannot quite explain. Mr. Drennan was one of those patients for me. He was so kind-hearted and adored his family. As I was going through the photo gallery, the pictures showed the true love and happiness he had when he was with his family. I will always remember Mr. Drennan and am praying for his family and friends.
