SCHAFFER, Fay (née Hymovitch)
Peacefully, at home, on Wednesday, April 6, 2016, in her ninety-third year. Most loving and devoted wife of M. Joseph Schaffer for over sixty-nine years. Loving mother and mother-in-law of Carol and Elliot Lifson, Michael and Olga Schaffer, and Debbie Schaffer. Beloved grandmother of Elissa, Jason and Chaviva, Steven and Laura, and Michael Lifson; David Schaffer, Roxanne and Chris Channell; Evan, Jarrod, and Sean Ouaknine, and Kristina Ousmanouva. Cherished "G.G." of Brad, Grace and Jamie Uditsky; Noa, Joshua and Zev Lifson; Scarlett and Lennon Lifson; Magdali Schaffer Thormodsgard. Dear sister-in-law of Toby Miller and Anne Schaffer. Predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, Sam and Aida Hymans, and brothers-in-law, Harry Miller and Ben Schaffer. The family would like to thank Drs. Elise Levinoff, David Langleben and Gordon Rubin for their constant care and devotion. Funeral service from Paperman & Sons, 3888 Jean Talon St. W., on Friday, April 8 at 2:00 p.m. Burial at the Young Israel of Montreal Congregation Cemetery, de la Savane. Shiva at her home, Sunday through Wednesday, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. daily.
