Faye Denham

Born on Jan. 2, 1910, she went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Dec. 2, 2010, and wished us to say, "My guardian angel has at last rung those golden bells for me and I am happy to be with the Lord and my loved ones who have gone before." She was raised in Sicily Island and spent her adult life in Baton Rouge. Faye was active in the Order of the Eastern Star, serving in many offices, including Worthy Matron and State Grand Chaplain. She retired from the Housing Department at LSU in 1975. She was a loyal member of Parkside Baptist Church. She is survived by a daughter, Ellen Jordan; and grandsons, Kerry and Kenny Kopcso, Nelson and Scott Jordan. She had seven great-grandchildren, Ryan, Daniel and Garret Kopcso, Jessie and Kara Kopcso, and Jason and Joelle Jordan. She wished to express special appreciation to Kerry Kopcso and his family, who have been the ones primarily responsible for her care for many years, and have done so with love and compassion. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson O. Denham; a daughter, Darilyn Dee Kopcso; parents, W.R. and Lucy Yearwood; two sisters, Permelia Scott and Carrie L. Regan; and a brother, D.C. Yearwood. Mrs. Denham and her family offer grateful thanks to Debra Barrios and the rest of the staff of Absolute Care Providers for their special care and compassion. Active pallbearers will be Kerry Kopcso, Kenny Kopcso, Ryan Kopcso, Garret Kopcso, Daniel Kopcso and Scott Jordan. Honorary pallbearers are Nelson Jordan, Douglas Owens and Billy Vickery. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Sunday, Dec. 5, from 11 a.m. until religious service at 2:30 p.m. Private interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park at a later date.
