Felicisimo "Felix" Camero

Biography of an amazing man Felix "The Cat" Camero:

Felicisimo (Felix) Camero was born in the Philippines on August 17, 1930. At 7 months old him and his family moved to Hawaii. He went to McKinley High School and graduated in 1948. He married his first wife, Helen J. Padua, and enlisted in the United States Marine Corp. After boot camp he was granted U.S. Citizenship in Los Angeles County. During the 1950's the Marine Corps moved him from Hawaii to Georgia, Los Angeles, Korea, and Okinawa. He had two sons: Phillip Lawerence Camero and Michael Allen Camero. Felix proudly served and survived 3 tours in Vietnam while stationed at Camp Pendleton and El Toro.

Felix remarried to Gloria M. Obiacoro on June 22, 1968. He gained five children: Darleen Mohr, Lopaka Quitevis, Ronald Quitevis, Lawerence Quitevis, and Marilyn Kershaw. He retired from the Military soon after their marriage at the end of that year, giving him roughly 21years in the service. He went to work for Dodge as a mechanic until he was offered a job with the California Highway Patrol as an Automotive Technician. He retired with the California Highway Patrol after 16 Years working for them. With his retirement, him and his wife Gloria traveled around the country in either his beloved Lincoln Continental or his American Clipper Motorhome. With his age, his health did decline. He was able to travel until 2010. With his extra time at home he enjoyed going to local casinos, gardening, spending time with friends, going out to eat, and having family over. He also liked to volunteer for the community when he could.

Felix loved life and lived it the only way he knew, happily, until his passing on October 24, 2015 of health complications. He left behind his wife Gloria, all seven of his children, 14 Grandchildren, 20+ Great-grandchildren, and 12 Great Great-Grandchildren.
