Felix Exelbierd Obituary
Mr. Exelbierd passed away peacefully, with his children by his side on Tuesday, December 17, 2024. He was born on October 24, 1946, in a DP Camp in Windsheim, Germany to Joseph and Rachel Exelbierd. In 1951, the three emigrated to the U.S., settling in Memphis TN.
A 1964 graduate of Memphis Central (THE) High School, he attended Rhodes College for basics, before enrolling into the University of Tennessee Dental School at Memphis and upon graduating in 1970, enlisted in the USAF Dentist Corp as a reservist for 4 years. After being discharged, Felix moved to Tyler in 1977 where he met his wife of 47 years, Sally. Together they opened and operated Felix Exelbierd Family Dentistry until their retirement in 2020, after 50 years of practicing dentistry. His hobbies were whatever his wife or children were into at that particular moment.
He was preceded in death by parents, Joseph and Rachel, brother Allen Exelbierd, all of Memphis, and wife Sally, Chandler.
Mr. Exelbierd is survived by sons Matthew Exelbierd, Tyler; Brian Exelbierd, Czech Republic; daughters Anna S. Arakaki (Clifton), Chandler; Jennifer Exelbierd, North Carolina; stepson Jayson Clements (Jennifer Smith); grandson Cobi and Kaimana, Tyler; nephews Donnie, Adam, Robert; and one special niece, Rayna Rose; and grandnephew/nieces.
