Willie Wandell "Will" Herndon

Mr. Willie (Will) Wandell Herndon age 67 of Winder, passed away Wednesday, March 16, 2011, after a four-month battle against lung cancer. Will was born October 9, 1943 to the late Julian Walter and Maude Louise (Dampier) Herndon. Will loved to fish and spend time with his grandchildren. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, serving as an Airman First Class (AZC)-E4. Will is survived by his wife of 46 years, Shirley Ann Herndon and daughter Leah Dianne Nelson and husband Bill of Jefferson, sons Lance Wandell Herndon of Winder, Will Bryant Herndon and wife Traci of Auburn, Wyatt Walter Herndon and wife Dana of Hoschton; brothers John Ward Herndon of Tucker; Ventis Wayne Herndon and wife Frances of Chester, Virginia; grandchildren Alex Nelson, Elena Nelson, Lane Herndon, Stone Herndon, Samuel Herndon, Savannah Herndon, Winter Herndon, Wyatt Herndon and Riley Herndon. He was owner of Herndon Fence Company, formerly in Auburn. A memorial service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Lawson Funeral Home. Family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 PM. Dr. John Talley will be officiating.
