Crawley, Fern, 87, of Big Stone Gap Va,went to be with her Lord, on Sunday (June 19, 2011) at The Laurels in Norton, Va. She was born in Lee County Virginia, to the late R.D. and Elizabeth (Reasor) Cox. She was married to William Robert Crawley, they lived many years in Osaka VA, and Big Stone Gap, Va. Fern was a member of Appalachia First Baptist church. She worked for Stonega Coke and Coal Company for several years, and with the Wise County School system for seventeen years. She was preceded in death by her husband, a sister Jewel Cox Leonard, and a brother Austin E. Cox. She is survived by a daughter Karon Cole and husband Lee of Cary, N.C. A son Kenneth Crawley and wife Addie of Roanoke VA. Four grandchildren, Michael Todd Cole of Sanford N.C. Robin Cole Sherrill of Cary, N.C. Angela Crawley Lynch of Salem Va. Jennifer Crawley Francisco of Roanoke, VA, four great grandchildren, Chance Francisco, Daniel Cole, Emaleigh Lynch, Gage Lynch, two sisters Charlene Cox Cozart, and Patricia Cox Howard, two brothers, Marvin Cox, and Dean Cox. The family would like to express a very warm thank you to a special friend Rachel Sexton and the staff at the Laurels for their kindness and loving care. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m on Tuesday, June 21, at Holding Funeral Home in Big Stone Gap. A graveside service will follow, at Glencoe Cemetery, in Big Stone Gap.
