Fern E. Hopkins

Fern E. Hopkins, 86, of Washington, died at home October 24, 2004. Funeral services will be 11AM Friday, October 29, 2004 at Blanchard Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 8AM to 8PM. Guardian Norman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Fern was born October 20, 1918 in Comanche, Oklahoma to Albert and Luella (Daughtery) Posey. She married Freeny Hopkins in Norman on October 5, 1935 and they raised three children together. She was a homemaker, a wonderful cook, enjoyed fishing, and her family was very important to her, and she loved to sit in her yard under her favorite tree. She was a member of the Noble Church of Christ. She is survived by her daughters Hilda Stoddard and her husband Kirk of Washington, Ruth Hopkins of Washington, and Lue McClanahan and her husband Pug of Oklahoma City; her sister Nadine Hopkins of Idabel, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, Robert Albrecht and his wife Dierdre, Phillip Albrecht and his wife Debbie, Kari Mayne and her husband Robert, David Cargill and his wife Jana, all of Goldsby, Steve Crowell of Boston, Paul Cargill and his wife Ericka, and Matthew Cargill and his wife Shala, all of Texas, Kenneth Bebout of Norman and Jenifer Bonner of Purcell; and twelve great grandchildren; many nieces & nephews, and her special caregivers Juan and Martha. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband just four days earlier, a brother Broode Posey and a sister Mary Belle Stubbs. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice in memory of Fern.
