SMITH, Flora Ann
in her 94th year, passed away peacefully in her sleep at University Hospital in London, Ontario on October 14, 2003. Flora was the beloved wife of the late S. C. (Peter) Smith of Canning, NS, and daughter of the late George and Annie (Hayman) Reid of Westville, NS. During her 62 years of marriage she and her family resided in Toronto, Richmond Hill, Alliston, and London in Ontario, in Martin's River, NS., and in Panama City Beach, FL., communities where she has left many friends and relatives. Flora was involved with several activities in these communities, particularly with curling, the Presbyterian Church, and local school activities. She is survived by her loving sons Peter and his wife Bonnie in Bridgetown, NS, and David and his wife Carol in London, ON. She will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Deborah (and Don) Fox, Todd (and Christine) Smith, and Allison (and David) Litz, and by her great grandchildren Peter and David Fox, and by Victoria and Daniel Smith. Flora is survived by brothers Gerald (and Isabel) Reid in Stellarton, NS, and George (and Patricia) Reid in Halifax, NS., and by sister-in-laws Betty Reid in Elliott Lake, ON and Daisy Smith in Berwick, NS. All will remember her for her sense of humour and independence of spirit. There will be no service. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name to a favourite charity, or to the Canadian Cancer Society will be appreciated.
