Flora Edna Taylor ABINGDON, Va. Our beloved mother and grandmother, Flora Edna Taylor, 96, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2010, at her home in Brumley Gap. She was born June 1, 1914, in Bristol Virginia, and lived most of her life at Brumley Gap, near Abingdon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roby Morgan Taylor; sisters, Nellie Patrick, Peggy Manual, Pat Destefino; and brother, James Woods. She is survived by her daughters, Laura Evelyn Jackson and husband Nixon of Mt. Hope, W.Va., and Charlotte Arlene Vermillion and husband Jimmy Wayne of Lebanon, Va.; three grandchildren, Katherine Hawkins and husband Jeff and Steve Jackson, all of Mt. Hope, and Patricia Gaughan and husband Chris; five great-grandchildren, Jennifer O'Dell, Kristen and Kelsey Morrison, Sara Faith Gaughan and little Noah; special friend, Genola Cumbow; loyal neighbors, Raymond and Pam Bailey; eight nephews; and three nieces. The family would also like to extend thanks to the 5th floor nursing staff at Johnston Memorial Hospital for taking such good care of their Mom. Funeral services for Mrs. Taylor will be conducted at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5, 2010, in the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service located at 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon, VA, with Pastor Everett Morefield officiating. The family will receive friends from 5 until 6:45 p.m. Friday. Committal services for family and friends will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, at Forest Hills Memory Gardens where Claude Duncan, Raymond Bailey, Bill Dixon, J.D. Persiani, Tom Taylor and Jeff Hawkins will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Steve Jackson, Jackie Woods, Gary Woods, Bobby Woods, James Woods and Dr. Ernest Henry.
