FLORENCE M. BOE (NEE HOMEIER) CROWN POINT, IN Florence M. Boe (nee Homeier), age 80 of Crown Point, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2011. She is survived by her daughter, Melissa L. (Joseph) Martinez of Schererville; granddaughter, Bianca Marie Martinez of Schererville; sister-in- law, Lilly Homeier of Crown Point; nieces: Sharon Butler, Shirley Esboldt, and Sandy (Greg) Peyovich all of Crown Point, Sue (Dave) Bledsoe of MI, and Sarah (Herman) Eickleberry of Valparaiso; nephews: Dale (Janet) Homeier of Wheeler and Doug (Debbie) Homeier of Winfield; many great nieces and great nephews. Preceded in death by husband, John H. Boe, Jr.; parents: Henry and Ida Homeier; brothers: Melvin and Floyd Homeier; sister-in-law, Helen Homeier. Florence was a lifetime member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church of Crown Point and a visiting member of Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church of Merrillville. She was a graduate of Crown Point High School, Class of 1948. Florence was the co-owner of Boe Farm Equipment & Sales. She volunteered many years with the South Lake County Agricultural Historical Society. Florence and John loved to travel, having visited much of the United States, Europe, China, and many other countries. They had spent over 26 years wintering at Jensen Beach, Florida. Family and friends may call at Pruzin & Little Funeral Service, 811 E. Franciscan Drive, Crown Point (south of State Rd. 231 on State Rd. 55) on Sunday, August 28, 2011 from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 29, 2011 at Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church, 7950 Marshall St., Merrillville, with Rev. Richard Boshoven and Rev. David Easterday officiating. There will be one half-hour of visitation prior to services. At rest Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville. Memorials preferred to Trinity Evangelical or Trinity Memorial Lutheran Church. Family and friends may share an online condolence or memory at: www.pruzinfuneralservice.com

I am so sorry to hear about Florence's passing. I am a much better person for knowing her. We enjoyed working with her and John in the tractor club. I will miss her tremendously. I think of her often. Our condolences are with you.

Missy, so sorry to hear that your Mom has passed. I have fond memories of riding my bike to your house on 231 and seeing your Mom and Dad there. They were good people, and they raised a wonderful daughter. You and your family are in my thoughts.
