Florence Hoppe

HOPPE, Florence ORANGEBURG - Mrs. Florence Sanders Hoppe, 96, widow of Art Hoppe, died Tuesday, December 18, 2007 at the Methodist Oaks, Orangeburg, SC. She was born on November 6, 1911 in the Sleytown Community of Barnwell county. She was the daughter of the late J.O. and Sally Creech Sanders. She was the last surviving of ten children. She was a retired employee of the Del Mar Va Electric Company. She had been a resident of the Methodist Oaks for over ten years. She was an avid bridge player and instructor. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 21, 2007 in the Stringer Memorial Chapel of the Methodist Oaks. Burial will follow in Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery, Barnwell, SC. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to the Choral Music Department of Beaufort High School, 54 Sea Island Parkway, Beaufort, SC 29907. MOLE FUNERAL HOME OF BARNWELL is in charge of arrangements. Survivors include her daughter, Sally Moore (Jack) Varner of N. Charleston; grandsons, Victor Varner of Beaufort, Gregg (Nancy) Varner of Hanahan, Ted (Susan) Varner of N. Charleston; three great grandsons, Scott, Jackson and Joseph Varner; a step-daughter, Signe Causey of Salisbury, MD; three step-granddaughters, Maureen, Kathleen and Penny.
