FLORENCE (RAGAN)
Age 84, of Kennedy Twp., on May 6, 2004 at Allegheny General Hospital. Born Dec. 24. 1919 in Homestead, PA. Educated at the University of Pgh., receiving her masters in education, she taught French at the Moon Area School System. A longtime parishioner and organist at St. Malachy Church. Preceded in death by her husband Co. Albert M. Kairys, her parents John D. Ragan and Susan M. Lutheran and her brother Father Regis Ragan. Survived by sons Albert Michael Kairys, Jr., L.J. Kairys, John David Kairys, daughter, Suzanne Irene Venneri, brothers Thomas Ragan and Dr. William Ragan, also ten grandchildren. She was loved and will be missed by many whom have had the opportunity to know her. Friends may call 2-4 & 7-9 pm SAT. & SUN at MCDERMOTT FUNERAL HOME, INC., 334 Forest Grove Rd., Kennedy Twp. , (family owned & operated since 1886). Mass of Christian Burial 9 am MON. in St. Malachy Church. Interment to follow in St. Casimir Cemetery, Whitehall. If you so choose, donations can be sent to A.I.F.S. Foundation, Attn: Robert Brennan, 9 W. Broad St., Stamford, CT 06902.

You were a patient and gifted teacher. My memories of French class are among my favorites. May your family find comfort in that fact that you reached and touched so many lives, young and old.

Dear Madame-

You made the world brighter and much more fun just being in it. You were a classic lady. All memories of you are fond. As you knew Daddy and Mom loved you, MaryEllen and Tim loved you as did most of Moon High School. Beignets, Boat trips in summer school and Bastille Day luncheons will always be preserved in my memory. Je t'aime. Love Susie Class of '79.
