Floyd, you are missed but not forgotten. Remember playing basketball together in your mom and dad's Northcliff Drive unheated garage during the dead of winter all those decades ago? Your family is in my prayers, brother.

I had the honor of playing for Floyd while he managed Oakley Blacktop back in the late 90's. He was the class of Division 1 softball. Always had a good story about the old days and knew all the players he coached and coached against. Like all great men, he will be missed. RIP Floyd

Floyd and I grew up together in Riverside. I have many happy memories of our youth. I last saw Floyd at a Stebbins reunion a few years ago and he looked great, along with his sister Donna and her husband. I am very sorry that such a wonderful person has been taken from us. My deepest sympathy to all his family.

Floyd and I met in the fourth grade at Mad River elementary school, that’s where we had many great times playing basketball, football, sox hops, and skating parties.
While attending Stebbins High School, we turned sixteen and worked in the concession stand at the old Dayton East Drive-In Theater on Valley Street. And when we got off work, in the wee hours of the morning we dragged raced our cars up and down Woodman Ave and hung out at the old Parkmoor Restaurant on Airway Road.
As time stands still for no-man, we dated our high school sweethearts, graduated, got jobs, married the sweethearts, then we drifted apart.
But, as fate would have it, Floyd and I rekindled the old, but not forgotten youth that had bonded the two of us together. Now, as older men, with the two marriages still intact, our conversations turned to our loving wife’s, our children, and grandchildren.
My heart goes out to Floyd’s wife Sherryl, their daughter, Christina, and grandchildren, and his siblings, Larry, Della, and Donna.
May God take Floyd into His open arms, and give his loving family the strength needed to endure their tragic loss. Floyd waits for us in Heaven; someday we hope and pray to join him.
