Thomas McDaniel Aransas Pass , TXThomas McDaniel, 79, passed away on March 4, 2013 in Rockport, Texas. In Mr. McDaniel's own words, he was:'Born 3, Sept. 1933 at Alto, Texas and raised in Franklin, Robertson Co. Texas. I served in the U.S. Navy from 21 Nov. 1951 to 28 May 1971 then was transferred to the Fleet Reserve with an honorable discharge. During my Navy career I served onboard U.S. Navy Air Craft Carriers USS Valley Forge, USS Antitam, USS Iwo Jima and USS Bennington.After my discharge from the Navy I was employed with Dupont Co. as a Production Tech. and retired 1 Jan. 1994 after being employed for 21 years with the company. I have lived in the Corpus Christi and Ingleside area since Jan. 1969.I have been a life long member of the Baptist Church.' He was a loving father and grandfather and is remembered as a very responsible man. He taught the family well about responsibility and how to respect.He was preceded in death by his parents David Tanner McDaniel and Donie Smith McDaniel; son Roger McDaniel and grandson David McDaniel. He is survived by his son Thomas McDaniel Jr. (Sherry) of Rockport, Texas; daughter Jana Scott (Johnny) of Briggsville, Arkansas; brother Edward McDaniel (Joyce) of San Antonio, Texas; sisters Letha Hood (Al) of Marble Falls, Texas, Jessie Johnson (Jess) of Marble Falls, Texas, Louise Ehlen of Phoenix, Arizona; grandchildren Dylan McDaniel, Logan McDaniel, Olevia McDaniel and Aubrea McDaniel, all of Rockport, Texas, Brandyn Scott and Brooklyn Scott, both of Briggsville, Arkansas. Visitation will be held March 6, 2013, 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass, Texas. The Funeral Service will be March 7, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass, Texas with burial to follow at Prairie View Cemetery in Aransas Pass. Pastor Scott Jones will minister the service. Arrangements Entrusted to:
