I went to high school and graduated with Floyd at Del Valle. He was amazing in our shop class--he made a beautiful electric guitar from scratch. Floyd excelled in this class so it is no surprise that he carried that skill into his career. He also had a 1955 red and white Crown Victoria which he fixed up. It was the envy of most of the guys in our class. I lost contact, but reconnected at our 50th reunion. Glad to see he followed everyone's dream of working for UT.

Over the years you taught me so much and here you go teaching me something else - don't ever take dear friends for granted because they're gone way too soon. I'll miss you so much -

I've worked with Floyd in the 90's at UT in the Purchasing Office. He was a great boss. I have nothing but fond memories about that time. I was sad to hear about his passing. Floyd is going to be missed. My condolences to the family.

"looking back on the memory of
The dance we shared 'neath the stars above
For a moment all the world was right
How could I have known that you'd ever say goodbye
And now I'm glad I didn't know the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I'd have had to miss the dance.
Holding you I had everything
For a moment wasn't I a king
But if I'd only known how the king would fall
Hey who's to say you know I might have changed it all
And now I'm glad I didn't know the way it all would go
Our lives are better left to chance I could have missed the pain
But I'd have had to miss the dance."
Always and Forever, Barbara

Floyd and I hunted together for many years. We bought a ranch together and we were partners in the Whitetail breeding business. I could not have hoped to have a better partner. I will always cherish our time together. I learned much from Floyd about so many things. He was a great friend and an even better business partner. Rest in peace my friend!

I had the privilege of working with and for Floyd for several years, and he was always there for me. We didn't always agree on the solution to issues, but he had a wonderful way of allowing my opinion to be considered. We continued to remain friends after retirement and emailed each other from time to time.
I will miss him and his sarcasm and quick wit. Rest well my friend.
