Floyd White Obituary
He was born September 29, 1927 in Chattanooga to the late Rose & Charles White, Sr.
He graduated from Central High School in 1946. After graduation Dr. White went on to receive his Doctorate Degree in 1951 from Mercer School of Pharmacy
He was the former owner and operator of B & W Pharmacy. After retirement he also worked for Rite Aid Pharmacy.
He was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church of Chattanooga.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, his twin, Lloyd "Cricket" White, Charles White, Jr., Herman White, and Ernest White; his sister, Betty Helen Arendale as well as an infant sister.
Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Betty Alford White; daughters, Kay (Mark) Whittenburg of Ooltewah, Dr. Darlene White of Ooltewah, and Brenda Davis of Chattanooga; son, Dr. Floyd Michael (Beth) White of Chattanooga; 9 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held at Greenwood Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org; the American Cancer Society at www.donate.cancer.org; or Hearth Hospice, 1800A Rossville Ave., Suite 7, Chattanooga, TN 37408.
Arrangements are by the East Brainerd Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 8214 East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga, TN 37421.

I knew Pete from the early days of B & W. I was 7, now 68. He was always nice to me and was always respected by the adult members of my family. I worked there for 5 or 6 years and was always treated well and respectfully by Pete. The only times I did not want to be around him were those times when he and Clyde Mosley would have lunch of cheese and those stinking sardines at the pharmacy counter. I hated them. My parents never had a bad word to say about Pete or his family. He and my father grew up around the corner from each other. Wish you all peace in this time of loss. May God bless and comfort you.
