FM Mooney
January 11, 1917 - February 21, 2013

F M was born to his parents Noah and Oleva Stockman Mooney on Jan. 11, 1917 and he died Feb. 21, 2013 very quietly just as he lived his life.
He was the second child in a family of twelve children.  Born in Vinson, Oklahoma, Harmon County.  Moved to Bovina, Texas, Parmer County in the early 1930's.  As a resident of Parmer County, located in the Texas Pan Handle, he suffered through the entire dust bowl period.
He and his family came to California in December 1936 to visit relatives.  They liked it here and never returned to Texas or Oklahoma.
F M served in the Army Engineers in New Guinea during World War II.
He became an industrial construction carpenter after serving in the Army.
Upon retiring he moved to Oakdale to help take care of his parents where he remained until he moved to the Kiernan Assisted Care Home in Salida.
In Oakdale he may be remembered as the man attending all the yard sales wearing an old style aluminum hard hat.
He is survived by 3 sisters; Skeet (Oneita) Warden of Bakersfield, Ginger (Flora) and her husband Tom Woodward of Earp CA, and Carroll Mendonsa of Oakdale, 2 brothers Dean Mooney of Modesto and DeWitt Mooney of Palm Springs.  He was an Uncle, Great Uncle, and Great Great Uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.  He will be remembered lovingly by many.
Services will be held on Friday March 1st at 10:00 am at Oakdale Memorial Chapel, with burial to follow at Lakewood Memorial Park.
