Frances Blundell Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Jan. 3, 2019.
FRANCES PAULINE (POLLY) CAPEHART BLUNDELL

Polly was born August 16, 1923 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and departed her earthly home on January 3, 2019 and was received into the arms of her Lord and Savior in heaven, where she was reunited with her husband Bill.

She was predeceased by her parents Henry Otis and Velma Louise (Frank) Capehart, her sister Dorothy Louise (Capehart) Dugas and her husband Billy James Blundell.

She is survived by three children, Paula Louise (Blundell) Carnell (Tom), Thomas Henry Blundell and Billy Jay Blundell (Sheree), her sister Mary Anna (Capehart) Segars, and a foster daughter Shala Asal (George).

Also surviving to carry on her legacy are seven grandchildren, James Everett Carnell, Kristen Rose (Blundell) Burns (Matt), Jillyan Bree Blundell, Jensen Blu Blundell, Billy Jerad Blundell, Jackson Bo Blundell, Matthew Jay Blundell , three great grand daughters, Elisabeth Rose Burns, Madelyn Claire Burns and Caroline Frances Burns, three very special nephews Christopher Paskowski, Brian Paskowski and Kevin Paskowski and three foster grand children Joey Asal, Nicole Asal and Danielle Asal.

Polly was baptized, as a young girl, at Maywood Christian Church and it was here where Bill courted her until she finally said yes and they were married in the same Church in 1942. At the time of her death she was a long time member of Southern Hills Christian Church (DOC) in Edmond, OK.

She attended Culbertson Elementary School, Webster Junior High School and Central High School, all in Oklahoma City and it was probably at Webster Junior High School where Polly and Bill first met.

During 52 years of marriage they had their ups and downs like most marriages, but they also had many adventures mostly involving the start up of many businesses. From owning a laundromat in the 1950's where Polly was the repairman, to an insurance agency followed by a home repair business, a plastic manufacturing business which produced a drink coaster for which Bill held the patent and a first go at novelty manufacturing and a company named for their children, Delkids. Delkids was followed by their most successful business, Bipo which made the advertising speciality sensation the Weepul. Ready to retire they sold the business to their son Tom and reveled in his success. Together they also helped their other children start up businesses.

Life wasn't all business though, and they also enjoyed traveling , making trips to Cuba, before Fidel Castro, Hawaii, New England to see the fall foliage and Europe, including Russia during the cold war.

Polly loved bowling and crocheting pot holders and afghans and each family member has at least one of these to cherish. She also was an avid gardener and her roses were amazing, but most of all Polly loved her dogs. From cocker spaniels, to boxers and bull dogs she loved them all. Her last dog was a shih tzu but she never liked the sound of the breed name but she loved Missy dearly.

When Bill passed on in 1994 Polly moved to the Oklahoma Christian Home in Edmond where she resided for 24 years staying busy with swimming and exercise classes, Wii bowling and always willing to serve on committees that made life better for the residents.

Her family is rejoicing and thankful in the fulfillment of her prayers and that she is now residing in her eternal heavenly home.
