Vernon:

VERY sorry to hear the sad news of the recent loss of your father....

I have distinct--and fond--memories of his years in the late-1960s when he was a Scout Leader in Hampstead.

May he Rest in Peace....

Sincerely,
Douglass R. Knight

I served with Vern in the 167 Corps Support Group for many years and am sad to hear of his passing. He was an outstanding Senior NCO and his knowledge, experience and guidance had a major impact on my military career. But, more importantly, he was a good man to know and be around-he will be missed. My condolences to his family. SGM Doug Ross (Ret)

I am saddened to learn about the passing of CSM Dingman; I served with him in the US Army Reserves and appreciated his ability to accomplish goals in such an easy and thorough manner. CSM was a true patriot and a "soldier's soldier." Rest in peace CSM. Lt Col Ed Wade

I have nothing but the fondest of memories of "Ding" and our times together in the 167th Support Group, where he taught me many lessons about leadership.

The world has lost a good man. My prayers go out to his family and fellow clansmen.
