Frances A. Miller
of Lewisburg, Pa.
Frances A. Miller, 83, died October 27, 2008, at her home in Riverwood Manor, Lewisburg, Pa. After graduation from Sullivan Co. H.S. in Dushore in 1943, she worked in the Lopez Post Office. Following World War II, she trained as a practical nurse at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City, and after several years on the hospital staff, she joined the practice of Dr. Reed and Spaeth in Binghamton. She later worked for Pierson's Office Supply in Binghamton, rising to floor manager before her retirement to the Lopez family homestead in 1987. Surviving is a brother, Clark Miller, Lewisburg, Pa.; nephews, Roger Miller, Menomonee Falls, Wis., Ken Smith, Fort Washington, Pa.; niece, Ruth Kale, Mount Vernon, Ohio; and many grandnieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; three sisters, Ruth Page, Mima Smith, Aura Miller; seven brothers, Keith, James, Robert, Howard, Reed, Gerald and William Miller.
Graveside Services will be Friday, October 31, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. in the Wyalusing Cemetery. Arrangements by the Russell P. McHenry Funeral Home, Dushore, Pa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of one's choice.

I worked with Fran many, many years ago at Pierson's. I was a very young girl and Fran took me under her wing, guiding me through some very trying times. I have thought of her many, many times over the years. Today I offer a prayer of Thanksgiving for having crossed paths with her.
