Frances Dean Nichols, 95, of Valdosta, died on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2008, at Langdale Hospice House. Born on Dec. 25, 1912 in Madison, S.D., she was the daughter of the late Ovid Ray and Mary Dean Fitts Nichols. Dr. Nichols was a physician and a surgeon. She was associated with her late brother, George Nichols and Nichols Homes and was active in the Home Builders Association. Surviving are her nieces, Bette Jean Daugharty and her husband, Robert T. Daugharty of Valdosta, and Dean Brooks of Valdosta; great-nephews, Nic Daugharty of Valdosta, Wright and Lisa Brooks of Atlanta, Burton Brooks also of Atlanta. Dr. Nichols will be sent to Ontario, Calif. to be placed in the mausoleum with her mother and father. Ms. Frances was such a wonderful lady. I always enjoyed our chance meetings at the bank or post office. I had been able to chat with her several times at Langdale Place. I know she will be missed but I'm sure there are many wondeful memories you will cherish. My thoughts are with you in your loss.
