Frances T. Siko Services for Frances T. Siko, of Dunnellon, Fla., will begin with prayers at 9:15 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Road (four blocks south of Palatine Road), Arlington Heights, and proceed to St. Mary Catholic Church, 10 N. Buffalo Grove Road, Buffalo Grove for Mass at 10 a.m. Interment will be private. Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 12, at the funeral home. Born Aug. 23, 1937, in Chicago, to Thomas and Mary (nee Collins) Clancy, she passed away from lung cancer on Thursday, Sept. 4, 2008, in Inverness, Fla., surrounded by her seven children. Fran, a domestic engineer, brought so much joy to those who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a beautiful lady on the inside and out. She always put her family first and taught her children the power of unconditional love. Her greatest joy was being a grandmother and she was known to her grandchildren as Franma. She enjoyed Monday Bridge, reading, and always had a love for learning. After raising her children, Fran attended college and received her A.A. degree. She was a member of St. Scholastic Church in Lecanto, Fla., and was a lector. Prior to moving to Florida with her husband and family, they lived for many years in Buffalo Grove and were members of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Buffalo Grove. Frances is survived by her children, Thomas (Diane) Siko of Arlington Heights, Sandy (Rick) Giebelhausen of Buffalo Grove, James (Deanna) Siko of Beach Park, Roark (Kelli) Siko of Chicago, R. Clancy (Gayla) Siko of Hawthorn Woods, Regina (Bill Pugh) Siko of St. Petersburg, Fla. and Roxanne (Charles) Robinton of Tallahassee, Fla.; her grandchildren, Thomas, Taryn, Jake, Kendall, Jonathan, Andrew J., Dana, Grainger, Leo, Kathryn, Austin, Connor, Nolan, and Riley; her sister, Loretta Meindl; sister-in-law, Carol Clancy; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Rosemary and Ernest Nipper; cousins and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas V. Siko; her sisters, Mary, Elizabeth and Catherine; her brother, John; and her brothers-in-law, Maury and Emil. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the Hospice of Citrus County, P.O. Box 641270, Beverly Hills, FL 34464. Our Monday bridge group met today and Fran was not there. She is missed!! What a smile and laugh. Fran loved to eat and there was not a dessert that went untasted by her. Our Monday bridge is diminished by the loss of Fran
My deepest sympathy to this wonderful lady's family.

We extend our deepest sympathies to you all in the loss of Francis. She was a wonderful person, and will be truly missed. My memories of the Sikos go back into the 1950s, when I was a child and spent summers here on the Withlacoochee River at my Grandparent's cabin. The highlight of our day was to take our old wooden boat and come up-river to the 200 bridge and stop at Siko's Fish Camp for bait, a soda and fish tales with Mr. Siko. Francis' father-in-law was good friends with my grandfather, Dr. Reid Dicks. When I retired and built my house next door, it was a wonderful experience to be able to come 'home' to the river and be so close to my roots. It was very uplifting to find out that the Siko family still lived on the old fish camp property. Francis and her family were very much a part of our family here on the river and I was honored to be her friend and neighbor. She will be missed by all who knew her.
