Francesca SKODA Obituary
Peacefully at her residence surrounded by her husband and loving family on July 24, 2014. Heaven today is a much better place, it is with our most heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Fancesca. She was born on August 22, 1929, the day the world became brighter. Francesca was predeceased by her parents Luigi and Katarina Giunta, her brother Albert, sister Vincenza and survived by her brother Frank. Her beautiful smile was a reflection of her Sicilian descent. At the tender age of 17, she married Stephen Skoda. She was the matriarch of the family that built Million Carpets and Tiles. Such is her legacy:
Francesca was the loving mother of 13 adoring children Anna (Lloyd), John (Susan), Steven (Brenda), Joe (Dianne), Robert (Kim), Anthony, Cathy (John), Frances (Shane), Charlie, Stephanie, Marko, Cynthia and Theresa (Mike). Loving grandmother to 33 grandchildren Adrian, Tyler (Monica), Brendan, Jonathan (Mary), Melissa (Kevin), Amanda, Michael (Julie), Christine (Steve), Jackie (Hansak), Jason, Kristopher, Shauna, Krysti, Samantha, Clayton, Arthur, Gregory (Jennifer), Nicolas, Shawn, Cory, Kyle, Spencer, William, Francesca, Christopher (Jocelyn), Matthew, Justin, Mitchell, Oliver, Alex, Lucas, Logan and Keira. Proud great- grandmother of 10 Dominic, Lily, Ella, Audrey, Owen, Morgann, Finn, Declan, Lexi and Willow. Resting at Jasko Moshonas Ouimet (693 Jean Talon O, Montréal, QC H3N 1S1) on Monday, July 28, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 29, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at Sts. Cyril and Methodius Church (7187 2nd Avenue (corner of 2nd Avenue and Jean Talon), Montreal QC H2A 3G8). Thence to Notre-Dame-Des- Neiges Cemetery. Special thanks to Dr. Stuart Glazer, Dr. Dolphin, Dr. Farley, the nursing staff and Sara from St-Mary's Hospital Cancer Clinic and CLSC Palliative Care nurses Suzy, Laurie and Jeff. Our deepest thanks to Suzy Szaba for her devotion and loving care of our mother. Through her valiant fight, she carried herself with grace, dignity and beauty.
Francesca was a loving mother to all.

To the Skoda Family...
Many people say there is nothing like a mother's love, and they are right. Francesca was a wonderful person who showed love to everyone she came in contact with. She was caring and beautiful inside and out. She loved life, her family, and her friends and taught her children to do the same. I have been blessed to have been fortunate enough to meet and enjoy many laughs with this amazing woman - Thank you to each and every one of the Skoda family for providing this. An angel walks with all of us now.
My hope is that ALL of you take comfort and solace in the fact that your mother is now in the arms of Jesus and is TALKING and walking around with ALL her loved ones (we SEE the signs); and that Jesus is taking care of her in the warmth of His love.
"This is the reason we do not give up. Our human body is wearing out. But our spirits are getting stronger every day." (2 Corinthians 4:16).
