It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, and Nonno, Francesco Pellegrino on January 5, 2013. Born on July 6, 1928 in Acri, Cosenza, he met and married his wife Gemma on December 7, 1952. Thanks to his brother-in- law and friend, the late Fedele Perri, he and his family immigrated to Canada in 1962. Francesco and Gemma created a loving home where friends and family were always welcome. His passion was his greenhouse, wine making and most especially his family. In addition to his loving wife, he is also survived by his daughters, Teresa (Pasquale) Imperato, Maria Gentile, Rosaria Beaumont and Rosa Pellegrino; son Pasquale (Dany) Pellegrino; grandchildren, Domenic (Kari) Imperato, Robert (Isabelle) Imperato, Gina (Tony) Colabella, Chantelle Gentile, Jennifer Beaumont, Paul Gentile, Stephanie Beaumont, Frank Pellegrino, Anjela Pellegrino-Snow, and Amy Pellegrino; six great-grandchildren; Alessandra, Katerina, Olivia, Michela, Carmine, and Amari. He is also survived by his brother-in-law Carmine (Ida) Fusaro, and sisters-in-law Nina Fusaro, Annunziata Perri, Francesca Aiello, Lina (Domenico) Minardi, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Francesco was predeceased by his parents, siblings and brothers-in-law, in Canada and Italy. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers and Tributes at McINNIS & HOLLOWAY'S Chapel of the Bells (2720 Centre Street North) this evening, January 9, 2013 at 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at Our Lady of Grace Italian and English Catholic Church (1714 - 14 Avenue N.E.) on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks and gratitude to the doctors and nurses of the Tom Baker Cancer Centre Unit 37.
