Francine WALKDEN-LACROIX Obituary

Published by Monteal Gazette on Oct. 11, 2014.
WALKDEN-LACROIX, Francine
1938 - 2014
It is with great sorrow and regret that we inform you of the passing of Mrs. Francine Lacroix. In Montreal, on October 6, 2014, Francine passed away after a courageous fight with cancer. We have all lost a great friend, an exemplary person who always strived to do good. She will always be remembered by her wonderful elegance, kindness and generosity. She was a tremendously positive and optimistic person who lived her life always thinking of others. Francine would wake up every morning with a smile, with a plan, and always ready to take on life's challenges and difficulties without complaining. Francine was an extraordinary mother to Lizanne (André Bussiere), and Marc (Natalie McDuff), and a loving, generous and present grandmother to Francois, Alexandra, Philippe, and Mark. Her grandchildren will miss Ninine. Francine is survived by her younger sister Didi Hanna and her wonderful husband Warren, her nephew and nieces, Derek (Amanda), Lynda (Tom) and Kim, who have always been the greatest and closest friends. Francine enjoyed very meaningful relationships with her brother-in- law Pete (late Nicole), his amazing kids Pierre (Michelle), Julie (late Phil), Michou (Bertrand), late Daniel (Joann), and their grandchildren; Bruno and Christianne, and Tanya and Masen were also always part of this amazing clan of joyful, loving Lacroixs. Fran loved her friends. She had many great friendships, and she strived to nurture them all. Never was this clearer than in the last few months of her life. Her friends will miss her dearly. The family will share a Final Celebration at Alfred Dallaire Memoria Funeral Complex, 1111 rue Laurier Ouest, Outremont, H2V 2L3, on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 from 2-5 p.m. and from 7-9 p.m., as well as Wednesday, October 15, 2014 beginning at 12 p.m. The Funeral Service will follow at 2 p.m. at St-Viateur Church in Outremont. The family wishes to thank the tremendous doctors, nurses and staff of Notre-Dame Hospital and the Palliative Care Ward. Instead of flowers, donations to Palliami would be appreciated.

Just learned of Francine's death; she was one of the highlights during my years at Sacred Heart. She will always be remembered with love.

I met Francine at Sacred Heart and was in the same class from 1949 to 1955. She was always friendly, caring, gracious and charming - a beautiful person. I will remember her always.
