Francis A. Fitzgerald

Francis A. Fitzgerald died at home after a long illness on Friday, September 6, 2019. Born on March 12, 1935 to the late Anthony and Ruby Fitzgerald. He was a graduate of Cathedral High School. Frank was a wire weaver for Cheney Bigalow Wire Works, a mechanic, and at one time had his own pressure washing company. Frank was a Hospice volunteer for many years. A true car buff, Frank enjoyed going to car shows with his sons and brothers and lovingly restored his 1955 Lincoln. He was predeceased by his daughter Jean, his sister Faith and his brother Eugene. Frank is survived by his wife of 26 years Nancy (Ives) Fitzgerald, sons: William of Springfield, Robert of Richmond, VA, and James of Springfield. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, September 10th from 4 – 7 PM at Wilbraham Funeral Home, 2551 Boston Rd., Wilbraham. Family and friends may meet for Frank’s Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 10 AM St. Michael’s Church, 128 Maple St., East Longmeadow. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Springfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
