Francis J. "Frank" Scaia, 80, retired US Postal Letter Carrier passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2013.

Frank was born on November 23, 1932 in Syracuse, NY to Frederick and Florence Scaia. He attended schools in Syracuse. He joined the Air Force in 1950 and was a Weapons Maintenance Technician and retired in 1974 with a short period of time as a bus driver for the city of Syracuse between 1953 and 1956. He served in numerous countries during his Air Force career. He served in England, Morocco, Libya, and Thailand. After retirement he worked in quality control for Cessna Aircraft for seven years. He completed his working career as a letter Carrier for the Post Office until his retirement in 1994. He was a member of the American Legion and Freemason.

Preceded in death by parents, Frederick and Florence Scaia, brothers Frederick, Thomas, Lawrence, sister Rose Mary Mills. Survived by his loving wife of 59 years Doreen, son Anthony (Lois) Scaia of Nickerson, NE, daughters Barbara (Jesse Milburn) Brown of Encinal, TX, Frances (Perry Crenshaw) West of Anthony, KS, brothers Albert Scaia of North Chesterfield, VA, Donald Scaia of Wichita, KS, Robert (Somsy) Scaia of Midwest City, OK sisters Pauline Caponiti, Gloria Zalewski both of Phoenix, AZ, Eileen (Peter) Cavanaugh of Oak Hurst, CA, eight grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren.

Visitation 12:00pm-1:30pm with Funeral Service, 1:30pm, Mon. April 8, 2013 at DeVorss Flanagan-Hunt Chapel.

In lieu of flowers memorials to Kansas Humane Society, American Diabetes Association or Alzheimer's Association.

Lots of fond memories of Frank with trips across the US in the RV :-) will be missed greatly.
