I'll never forget dear Mr. Tomczuk making me stand in the corner of our 7thGrade English Class because I was talking. Very humuliating at the time, but hilarious now. And my grandaughters just love hearing about it. It makes me "cool". Helen Koskoski Mihalcik--Princeton,NJ

Mr Tomczuk - one of my favorite teachers evre. I was an A student in his class but I'll never forget the day he dragged my desk out of the class ot sit in the hallway because I was looking out the door (trying to see a certain someone walk by). I never forgot that day, he was so mad at me for not paying attention, but I loved him so much I couldn't be mad at him.
His spirit and love for what he did left a legacy at CHS and great memories in the minds of those of us lucky enough to have been one of his students. Heaven has a gained a Giant with a big heart. RIP Mr. Tomczuk, and thanks for the pleasure of having been your student.

So many years, so many students. You were our 8th grade English teacher at Nathan Hale School and will always remember you saying to the class "Don't be a clock watcher; time will pass-- but will you?"
Rest in peace Mr T.

Carteret has lost a true patriot. He was just a young man when he took part in the liberation of one of the concentration camps at the end of World War II. Like countless others he was horrified to see the evil that was genocide born of Nazism. He used to throw chalk at me and Aggie Szymborski when were talking in his 7th grade English class at NHS.
He was a good friend to my family, Tom and Elizabeth Jakeway.
Rest in Peace.

I had Mr. Tomczuk in '65 and '66 and I was no angel in his class. He let me get alway with alot because he did see my potential which I realized later on. I not only saw him in the Bus Stop constantly but he also stopped by the VFW often when I went there. I will miss you dearly and know that you are in a better place than all of us. I'll bet you're teaching English up there.....Love Always, Kathy Slattery

I had the hoor of having Mr T my senior year. He was a great teacher. I used to see him at the Bus Stop. He would come over and talk to my husband and myself. So many of us will hold fond memories from one of the greatest teachers of Carteret High.

Mr. Tomczuk was a great & proud citizen of our town and will forever be woven into the fabric that is Carteret.
Even though I never had the honor of being one of his students - however both of my parents did - he always greeted me by name & with a smile whenever and wherever I saw him - be it within CHS's walls, or out in the "real world"......no matter how many years that passed since I graduated (in 1989). Mr. Tomczuk was a wonderful friend and neighbor to my grandparents as well.
He was a gem & a gentleman who will be GREATLY missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. May you rest in peace.

Mr Tomczuk was my favorite teacher at CHS. He never took it easy on me because he knew the potential I had in myself that I didn't know at the time. To this day I remember his teachings and always will. My Condolences goes out to the Tomczuk family and may he R.I.P. He truly was one of a kind and he will be missed by all of us. I'm just lucky enough to have been in one of his English classes to experience the master at work. God Bless Mr Tomczuk.

Mr. Tomczuk,as his students called him, was my English teacher for 3 of the 4years at CHS. He also knew my father quite well(Harold Maddow) because my father was a member of the Jewish War Vets and both believed in the defence of this country. After 90yrs of good living, may you rest in peace with the knowledge of a life well spent. God Bless You.

As a member of the American Legion Jersey Boys State staff, I want to say that this is very sad news indeed. Many on staff only knew Frank in his later years, when his health was failing and he had trouble getting around. But some of us will remember a vital, funny, outgoing and truly dedicated member of our Boys State staff.
He possessed the admirable quality of being able to poke fun at himself, and I'll always cherish working on that silly short 'commercial' where he pretended to race a motorcycle around the Rider quad and then took off his 'way-too-cool' helmet and refreshed himself w/one of those goofy Stan McGraw sodas.
His jokes were bad, his criticism of spelling and grammar sometimes old-fashioned and over-zealous; but he always put the our boys first and gave unselfishly to the Legion and to Boys State. Like many of our lost heroes -- Bob May, Bob Bonnavait, Norman Sullivan come to mind -- he will be greatly missed.

Mr. Tomczuk was a very good man. While I never had him for class, I worked closely with him when I was in high school when I went to the American Legion Jersey Boys State. Additionally, he helped me immensely on a project when I was in high school on what Carteret was like during the Progressive Era. He taught my Mom the very grammar on which she still corrects me every so often. When I'd see him around town, Mr. T. would always have a good word. RIP

I had Mr Tomczuk as a teacher 79- 83, and it was so nice to see him all the time in Shoprite, and the "Bus Stop" He was a Carteret Icon. He always gave "on the spot" English quizs. LOL . He would stare you down in Shoprite...until you smiled. :) and shared news.
Much love to his family- He will be fondly remebered, and sadly missed.

I have so many memories of Mr. Tomczuk starting as my English teacher at CHS. I remember them placing every Polish immigrant in his class so he can teach them to speak English.
As an Adult I will always remember his service to our country and community.
Mr. Tomczuk will be missed by all. He was a wonderful person. I know he has found peace in Jesus. God bless Mr. Tomczuk and may he rest in peace.
