Francis Lynn Williams

August 6, 1941 - February 27, 2025

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Francis Lynn Williams, aged 83, on February 27, 2025, in Dallas, Texas.

Lynn was born at home on August 6, 1941, in Nederland, Texas, to Mamie Sue Williams and Charles Cole Williams and had one older brother, Cole Williams. From an early age, he displayed an incredible work ethic-starting with a paper route when he was 12 and later excelling in football, proudly wearing #65 on the Nederland High School state championship team under legendary coach Bum Phillips, who later coached the Houston Oilers, and whose son, Wade Phillips, coached the Dallas Cowboys.

His academic journey led him to Lamar College and then The University of Texas at Austin, where he earned a degree in Pharmacy in 1964. While working at Kinsolving Dormitory at UT, he met Nancy Susan Nelson, whom he later married. Together, they had two daughters, Elizabeth Elaine Williams and Andrea Lynne Glover.

His passion for healthcare led him to Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas, where he graduated in May 1969 and where he pursued his true calling as a dentist, a profession he dedicated himself to for 50 years. His final dental office was located in the East Lake Medical Building on Garland Road in Dallas. To this day, people still walk the halls looking for his office-a testament to the impact he made in his patients' lives.

Lynn never fully realized just how much he meant to others. Acts of service were his love language, and he gave generously without seeking recognition. Whether it was through his pro bono dental work for people in need or his years of quiet generosity, he left a mark on countless lives.

Lynn also served his country with honor in the United States Air Force from 1969-1971 and continued his service through the Air Force Reserves for many years.

Later, he married Maria Lunova Taylor and became a devoted father to Timothy Taylor. He cherished his role as a grandfather to Geoffrey Taylor, Wesley Taylor, Micah Glover, and Avery Glover.

Beyond his professional and military service, Lynn had a lifelong passion for cars-he could tell you every detail about every car he had ever owned. He also loved building and flying model airplanes, a hobby that brought him endless joy. He was an active member of the Soaring League of North Texas for many years. As a longtime member of the White Rock Kiwanis Club, he was committed to community service, participating in numerous projects that improved the lives of others.

Lynn will be remembered for his intelligence, generosity, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. His legacy of service, kindness, and quiet impact will live on in the many lives he touched.

I am Maria Lunova Williams cousin living in WI so didn´t get to see Lynn very often but I was about 13 years old and came to TX for a visit in the summer and fell in love with the nicest man, it happened to be Lynn Williams! I have great memories of him. My mom visited her sister in Irving and had trouble with her dentures for years, Lynn offered to help her and she never had another issue, she was so thankful! RIP Lynn, it was a privilege to know you.

Dr. Williams hired me at 16 years old as an apprentice, learning the world of dentistry one step at a time. He was passionate about what he did and truly shined chairside, as he explained procedures with enthusiasm. He was an artist, a mind filled with ideas that would put him in a league of his own.

He was a gentleman with a heart of gold. A man of service to others and selfless individual. I will forever be grateful for his mentorship, guidance, and fartherly care of my sister, my nieces, cousins, and myself, and of my sons. Dr. Williams, you will forever be missed and never forgottenSleep in eternal rest

I met Dr Williams in the late 70´s at his practice on East Garland Rd. When we first moved to Dallas, he and Maria introduced us to their friends and invited us into their home on numerous occasions. They made us feel very special. He will be sorely missed.
