Francisca T. Valdez

Francisca T. Valdez, 86, of Sterling, died on Friday, October 27, 2017 at her daughter's home in Palatine. She was born on May 8, 1931 in Coolidge, Texas to Jose and Andrea (Martinez) Trevino. She married Ventura Valdez on July 15, 1961 in Waco, Texas. He preceded her in death on December 22, 2016. She was a faithful member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling and was a very talented seamstress who enjoyed making things for others. Francisca loved crocheting, embroidering and quilting. She also enjoyed traveling, flowers and gardening. Francisca was a woman who was strong in her faith and adored her family especially her grandchildren whom she loved spending time with when she could. She is survived by her daughters, Maria (Randy) Wildenhain of Wheeling, Elizabeth Valdez of Palatine and Lydia Valdez of Wauconda; her sons, Jaime (Janice) Valdez of Rock Falls, Jesus (the late Martha) Valdez and Juan (Judy) Valdez both of Sterling; 8 grandchildren, Karina Valdez, Jesus Valdez, Jr., Carisa Valdez, Sergio Valdez, Alyssa (Beau) Ebenezer, Michael (Jessica) Valdez, Samantha Valdez and Tomas Valdez; 2 great grandchildren, Ventura Valdez and Fayth Ebenezer; and 4 brothers, Estevan Trevino, Elojio Trevino, Jose Trevino, Jr. and Juan Trevino all of Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her daughter in law, three sisters, Petra Perez, Paula Galvan and Rita Galvan, and a brother Henry Trevino. Visitation will be held from 9-10:00 AM Saturday, November 4th with the rosary at 8:45 AM at McDonald Funeral Home, 505 1st Avenue, Sterling. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM on Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church in Sterling with Reverend Adalberto Sanchez, officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Sterling.
