Francisco Amaya Obituary
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Scottsbluff with Fr. Phil Flott officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery with military rites by the Nebraska Army National Guard.
A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday Feb. 14, at Dugan-Kramer Funeral Chapel.

Francisco was born July 26, 1923 in Mexico. He came to the United States when was three months old. He had a very strong love for God, his family, and his country. He was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. A soldier in the 5th Army, 15th Regimen, K Company, 3rd Infantry Division, Francisco proudly served his country under General Patton and aside Audie Murphy. He proudly earned his American Citizenship after serving in WWII. Francisco returned to Brownsville, Texas where he met and married Aurora Garcia in 1949. They moved to Scottsbluff in 1963 and made it their home. Francisco was a very hard worker all his life and enjoyed anytime he had to spend with his family.
Survivors include his children, Joe King (Freida) of Colorado, Josie Garza (Jose) of Michigan, Frank Amaya (Toni) of Nebraska, Mary Jane Amaya (Floyd) of Nebraska, Elsie Chavez (John) of Colorado, Stella Campos (Roger) of Wyoming, George Amaya Sr. (Jean) of Arizona, Maria "Lupe" Naye (Gene) Nebraska, Armando Amaya (Sondra) of Nebraska, and Norma Hernandez (Jesse) of Arizona. He was grandfather to 43 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Caregivers: grandson, Michael Amaya, grandson Sean Blanco, grandson Steven Blanco, and Krissy Lockman.
Preceding Francisco in death were his parents; wife, Aurora; sons, Pablo, Edward, and Emilio; and grandson Michael Lopez.
He will be sadly missed by all of us, and we will forever remember him in our hearts. We love you Dad!

Today was your special day here on earth, now everyday is a special day for you with mom in heaven. Smile big dad! We think about you everyday and today even more. Everything reminds me of you. I can't tell you how often I have wanted to pick up the phone and just here your voice, but I know that is impossible. Eventhough month's have passed, it is hard to believe we will never hear your voice or hear you laugh..I even miss you scolding me :) . We can't blow out the candles on your cake with you this year, but Siara and I blew you a birthday kiss! We hold you close to our hearts.
