Francisco F. Moniz

Francisco F. Moniz, 46, died Saturday, Aug. 15, 2009, at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. The Funeral Mass celebrating his life will be offered at St. Rose of Lima Church, 312 Ridgedale Ave., East Hanover, on Thursday at 11:30 a.m. followed by the committal service at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. The family will receive friends, also Thursday, at the LaMonica Memorial Home, 145 E. Mount Pleasant Ave., Livingston, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Francisco was born in the Azores, Portugal, coming to the U.S. in 1969, first settling in Newark and then living in Somerset for 15 years before moving to Washington, NJ, four years ago. He was a general foreman in the family owned business, Mbe Mark III Electric, Inc., Madison, for the past 15 years. Surviving are his beloved wife, Daisy (Orban); devoted children, Olivia, Frank and Daisy, and loving mother, Olivia (Ferreira) Moniz. He is also survived by his dear siblings, Joseph, Mario, Delfin, Anibal, Olga Esteves, Mary and Maria Moniz, Connie Fernandez, Olivia Hassan, Susie Martinez and Lucy Moniz. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Pl., Memphis, Tenn. 38105.
