Francisco Rivas Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Mar. 16, 2023.

On March 9, 2023 Francisco “Frankie” Rivas, age 42, entered eternal life. He was born on January 20, 1981 at Edwards Air Force Base to Cherrie McInturff and Randy Rivas.

Frankie was a graduate of Rosamond High School, class of 2001.  Immediately upon graduation he married the mother of his children, Jeanette Rojas, and enlisted in the Navy.  He proudly served his country during Operation Enduring Freedom aboard the USS Peleliu LHA-5 after 9-11 and was honorably discharged.  Frankie continued to serve his country as a civil servant for the Air Force at Edwards Air Force Base and later at White Sands Missile Range.  Frankie remained a staunch supporter of veterans throughout his life

Frankie was always lending a hand, whether it was family or friends.  He was jokester and you could always expect a POW or WHAMO from him to let you know he was around.  He was loved by all who knew him and Frankie loved the Lord dearly.

Those left to carry his memory include his parents Randy and Cherrie, fiancé Stephanie Diaz, sons Riley Rivas and Brayden Rivas, step-children Domonic and Becca, his brother Anthony Rivas, and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles and niece.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Joe Rivas and Petra B Rivas.

Funeral services will be held on Monday March 20, 2023. Visitations will begin at 4:00 P.M. at Baca's Funeral Chapel, 300 E. Boutz Road. Recitation of the Holy Rosary is scheduled for 5:00 P.M.
