Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 30 to Apr. 1, 2016.
FRANK C. BUCCOLA On March 21, 2016, our kind, loving and gentle husband, father, grand-father, and great grand-father, Frank Clayton Buccola, 87, left his earthly, joyful life in Paradise, California to join loved-ones who preceded him in death. Frank's 87 years were committed to the well-being and service of his family and friends to whom he joyfully and selflessly devoted his life. Frank's early years began on July 31, 1928, in Montebello, California, where he was born to Carl and Josephine (Canzoneri) Buccola, dairy farmers and grocery store owners. Frank was the eldest of two children including a younger brother, Victor. Frank was a graduate of Mark Keppel High School in Alhambra, California, where he excelled in mathematics and gym-nastics. In February of 1947, Frank married his sweetheart, JoAnne Potter, and they have been together for 69 years. In the early years of their marriage, Frank and JoAnne were blessed with three talented children: Stephen, an artist and picture framing business owner in Los Angeles, California; Debra, a retired human resources and payroll specialist at Butte College in Orville, California; and Cynthia an English teacher at Kingsburg High School in Kingsburg, California. In his teenage years, Frank entered the work force learning the art of cutting, shaping, and processing turquoise, sparking a lifelong interest in jewelry making. At the age of 27, Frank began his career with Pacific Bell working as an outside lineman, installer, and eventually an engineer in Electric Central Switching. Frank retired in April of 1994, after 40 years of service. In June of 1977, Frank and JoAnne moved from the Southern California area and relocated to Paradise, California, where they have resided for 38 years. Frank was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Josephine Buccola and his son, Stephen. He is survived by his wife, JoAnne, his two daughters: Debra and Cynthia; grand-daughter, Megan; grand-son, Jacob; five great-grand children: Ashlynn, Madalynn, Jacklynn, Genevieve, and Bree; and his brother, Victor, along with numerous relatives and loved-ones.
