Frank Corillo Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers on Oct. 28, 2010.
Frank Corillo VIRGINIA BEACH - Frank Corillo was many things to many people, but on the top of the list was loving husband and father. He passed away peacefully Oct. 25, 2010. He was born in New York Jan. 20, 1924. During his 86 years he was primarily involved in sales and was successful because of his honest and ethical approach to his clients and customers. He always did what he said he would do. A member of the Greatest Generation, he served in the Coast Guard during World War II. Following that he married the one love of his life, Kathleen T. Gallagher, and together they raised four children, who are left to honor his memory as a kind and gentle man who had a good word for everyone he knew. When he lived in Northvale, N.J., he was asked by both political parties to run for mayor. He was transferred to Boston with his job before he could enter the political arena but not before he and his wife joined the all volunteer ambulance corps in the town and Frank soon became its president. His career eventually took him to Virginia Beach where he found a home and remained there in retirement. His wife, Kathleen, predeceased Frank in 2000. He is survived by his son, Dr. Glenn Corillo and his wife Marilyn; his three daughters, Dale Ann Corillo, Dawn Marie Manson and her husband Van, and Nova Jean Corillo. He also had 10 grandchildren, Keith Corillo, Scott Corillo, Todd Corillo, Chad Corillo, Cori Trask, Casey Trask, Megan Trask, Kimberly Manson, Van Manson II, and Rebecca Manson. He also leaves two great-grandchildren, Natalie Jean De Castro and Alexander O'Brian. The family will receive friends Friday, Oct. 29, at the Kellum Funeral Home, 601 North Witchduck Road, Virginia Beach from 7 to 8:30 p.m. There will be a funeral Mass at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 712 Little Neck Road, Virginia Beach Saturday, Oct. 30 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Charities. You may offer your condolences to the family at www.kellumfuneralhome. com.

Dearest Nova, Please know you are in my thoughts. I am so sorry for your loss, but glad that your Dad is not suffering anymore. Last time I saw him broke my heart because I knew he was not happy, at least he was still able to chuckle at you telling a joke :) I love you dear friend!

Dale, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I did not have the pleasure of meeting your father - but I know you - and therefore I know he loved you dearly and is proud of his baby girl. He's your angel.
