Frank J. Degaetano

AYER Mr. Frank J. DeGaetano, 61, of Ayer and formerly of Milford died Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at the Noshoba Valley Medical Center in Ayer, after an illness. He was the husband of Susan (Hutchinson) DeGaetano. Mr. DeGaetano was born in Milford, the son of the late Louis DeGaetano and the son of Josephine (Ferretti) DeGaetano of Milford. He was a graduate of Milford High School, Class of 1965. He also attended heavy equipment operators school, located in Brighton. Mr. DeGaetano was first employed as a heavy equipment operator, working out of Teamsters Union Local #4, and was employed by various construction companies in Massachusetts. Later he was employed at the Keebler Company in Franklin, and was associated with Teamsters Union Local #170, until his retirement due to his illness. Mr. DeGaetano has been a resident of Ayer since 1991 and prior to that had resided in Milford. He was a member of the Shirley Rod & Gun Club, Shirley, and was an avid hunter and outdoorsman. Along with his wife of 25 years and his mother, he is survived by his children, Raffaela DeGaetano and Frankie DeGaetano Jr. of Ayer, Robert DeGaetano of Douglas and Dawn DeGaetano of Hyannis; three grandchildren; one sister, Constance, wife of Arthur "Butch" Webster of Milford; one brother, Louis DeGaetano and his wife, Victoria, of Bend, Ore.; also one nephew and two nieces. His funeral will be held Saturday, March 22, at 8 a.m., from Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, 44 Congress St., Milford, (www.edwardsmemorialfuneralhome.com) followed by a Liturgy of the Word at 9 a.m., in the lower chapel of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 7 East Main St., Milford. Burial will follow in St. Marys Cemetery in Ayer. Visiting hours will be Friday, from 5 to 8 p.m.
