Frank L. Gerry, 74, of Lewiston, died Saturday, Jan. 2, 2016, at his home surrounded by his family.

Frank was born Feb. 25, 1941, to Reuben and Cora (Lewis) Gerry. He was raised on the family farm in St. Charles, and graduated from St. Charles High School in 1959. He worked his way through college at Del's Café, where he met the love of his life, Sonjia Sue Larson. They were married July 26, 1963. They had two children, Heidi Carmon Gerry Bain and Scott Allen Gerry.

As a devoted husband and father, he was also an artist and an outdoorsman. He shared his musical talents as a trombonist and a singer. He sang for many weddings, funerals and church services throughout his life. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and riding his ATV on the trails in southeastern Minnesota.

As an executive chef, his favorite assignment was working at the College of William & Mary in Williamsburg, Va. He also worked at many colleges in Missouri, Wisconsin and Minnesota, with St. Teresa, Winona, being his home. St. Teresa was the place where he could spotlight his culinary craft for private and public events. He could make each event special, from food to ice carvings. It wouldn't be unusual to see him in the walk-in freezer with his chainsaw working on an ice masterpiece.

His love for his family will always be remembered, and he will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Sonjia (Larson); children, Heidi (Craig) and Scott (Korri); grandchildren, Kaitlin Bain, Ashton (Joe) Lorenz, Evan Bain, Hannah Bain, and Isabella Gerry; sister, Coralyn Worth; brother, Gaylen (Carol) Gerry; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Jack Worth.

A celebration of Frank's life will be at 1 p.m, Saturday, Jan. 9, at the Utica First
Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Tim Gerarden officiating. Visitation will be 4 p.m. to 7
p.m. Friday a Hoff Funeral & Cremation Service in Lewiston, and one hour prior to the
service at the church.
