Most don't know that Frank's patience and latitude when he was President of Steeplejack eventually resulted in the saving of thousands of lives in that industry. I was able to share that with him a few years back... He was my mentor - If he had not been there, the changes eventually made across the world, changes one of every ten American workers now take for granted, would probably have not occurred. And definitely not have occured with the acceptance and success those practices have today. An excellent CEO of the old school - in board meetings, he measured our efforts by their effects on the community. A good man.. his impact will live on.

FRANK HETMAN, aka FW:

I have been fortunate to know this man all of my life........

Touched not only by him, but his wonderful children and wife........

Down to their house I would run almost every day..........

To find my best friend Dave to go out and play..........

FW was gone a lot, and we all knew why.........

Because he had lots of good ideas and worked hard to make them fly...........

Busy as he was, he made time for all of his children and friends one by one.......

I know, cause I went duck hunting, fishing, and up to their place on Clear Water Lake with him and my best buddy, his son............

I went to live in Alaska, and on my first attemp I did fail...............

It was FW and FW Jr. who gave me a job as a Window Cowboy, to get the resourses to go back up there and eventually prevail...........

I soon went back to Alaska with FW's nephew Jeff Peterson and his son Dave by my side............

33 years later, it is in Alaska as great friends we all still reside.........

FW was'nt done yet, he never ever was to people he held dear...........

In and out of my life he would come year after year..........

To you FW, a great husband, father, brother, leader, inventor, and dear friend that has touched so many people far and near..............

I mourn your passing, share in your loved one's great loss as you are no longer here..........

May you rest in peace and tranquillity Frank Sr. Your legacy lives on in those who have been fortunate to have been touched by you.

To the Family of Frank Hetman Sr:

In looking back at my early life, I can’t imagine a more beautiful place to raise a family than on Golden Valley’s Paisley Lane. Frank was a beautiful man who wanted nothing more than to share his time and talents with other people. I have many fond memories of the neighborhood and the people who I grew up around. Frank lived a great life and although he will be missed, I know that a part of him living on in each of us has made the world a better place. Our thoughts and prayers to each of you!

Our condolences to Ruth and family.
I`m proud to have worked for DeVac. The comradely and loyalty I found there kept me there 28 years.
Frank`s vision and skills provided good jobs for many.
The products he and his partners developed save energy and last a lifetime.
He`ll be wellcomed. Doer`s are scarce.

Frank Jr;, and family,
Please accept my condolences. I will always remember your father as a good and kind man, as you are. When you had little work for me at Mon-Ray, your father made room for me as a receptionist. Those years are always remembered with a smile. I remember when we (the Mon-Ray gang) went to DeVAC and sang Christmas carols during the holidays. (Up on the House Top, with verses you made up, come to mind)
May the memories you have of your father and family bring you great comfort during this difficult time. Although, he is in no pain now and I am sure he is enjoying the good Lord's home. Do you think there are DeVAC windows made of gold there?!! Bless you and your family,

Dorraine and I want to extend our sympathy to Ruth and to the whole Hetman Family. We have known Frank for fifty two years as an excellent neighbor and friend. We have enjoyed the hospitality of the Hetman home and have eaten many of Ruth's apple pies prepared from Frank's apples. Our children and their's were playmates, and they have become lifelong friends.
Frank was unique individual who had a brillant and inventive mind. He took and idea, ran with it and in the process developed companies that sold products locally and internationally. His contribution to his fellow man was creating jobs that fed, clothed and housed many families through their working in his companies. He was a true entrepreneur - quite an accomplishment for a farm boy from Holdingford, Minnesota. We will miss you Frank and the many good times we shared as couples.
