I miss Frank Maassen, he was my grandfather and we had fun the last time I visited him in Oakland Iowa.

Chase, myself and our boys lived across the street from Frank for 4 years. We loved helping him out when we could. We especially remember the wonderful apples he handed out for Halloween. He was a wonderful man who I know will be missed in the neighborhood.

I loved Mr. Maassen! He would come to the Hiway Cafe for lunch quite often and it always was at a time when I could sit and visit. (I was a waitress) I enjoyed visiting with him very much. At first he would leave tracts, until he realized that I was a believer and then we would just sit and chat. I remember well when he got Corky. I hope he is well taken care of now that his master is gone. I will miss Mr. Maassen very much. He was a true gem, a wonderful, kind spirit. May he rest in peace. (He always said to call him Frank, but I just couldn't do that!)
