Frank Odom ROCK HILL, SC - Mr. William Franklin "Frank" Odom, 74, of 404 N. Jones Avenue, passed away Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House following a long battle with Diabetes and other related complications. Memorial services will be 7:00 P.M. Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel, 2133 Ebenezer Road, Rock Hill, SC 29732 with Dr. Jim Neal officiating. Inurnment will be Thursday, December 13, 2012 at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, near Columbia, SC,. with full military honors provided by the S.C. Army National Guard Honors Team. Frank was born November 1, 1938 in Florence, SC and was the son of the late Carlton Jacob Odom, Sr. and the late Schadie Deese Odom. He was a 1957 graduate of McClenaghan High School in Florence and moved to Rock Hill in 1958 where he opened Frank's Army/Navy Store in downtown. Frank retired as a sergeant-major with the S.C. Army National Guard where he was assigned to the Adjutant General's Office and served over 28 years, including five years with the U.S. Army where he attained the rank of Sergeant First Class. After his military retirement, Frank worked as Fleet and Lease man-ager for Regal Chrysler / Plymouth and Diamond Chevrolet in Charlotte. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church, a 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner. Frank never met a stranger and helped so many people in times of need. He always felt God had blessed him so much and he wanted to return the favor to those less fortunate. He always had a positive attitude and never gave up while fighting his illnesses. Surviving are his loving wife, Linda Rollins Odom, of the home; his son, William Franklin "Frankie" Odom, II, of Roanoke, VA; his daughter, Karla Odom Vereen and her husband, Jackie, of Fort Mill, SC; one granddaughter, Miss Jordan Rebecca Vereen, of Fort Mill; three brothers, C.J. "Jake" Odom, Jr. and wife, Beverly, and Herman Randall Odom and wife, Dianne, all of Pensacola, FL and Ray Odom and wife, Laura, of Greensboro, NC; and his sister, Ann Odom, also of Greensboro. The family will receive friends at the funeral home immediately following the memorial service and other times at the home. The family wishes to convey it's many thanks to all the friends, family and care givers who provided their love, care and support throughout Frank's illness. He appreciated and loved them all. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Street, Greenville, SC 29605; Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House, P.O. Box 993, Rock Hill, SC 29731 or to Eastside Baptist Church, 318 N. Jones Ave., Rock Hill, SC 29730. Condolences may be made on-line at www.greenefuneralhome.net

Karla, your dad was very special to me... he was my other day as your mother is my other mother. My heart is heavy for you and the family but, he is at rest with the ones that gone before him.. I know him and Dad are having a wonderful time... hang in there and know that we will see them again.. if there is anything i can do please let me know.. love ya'll with all of my heart...
