Parrinello, Father Frank P.

June 13, 1967 - January 7, 2023

Father Frank P. Parrinello, 55, LICSW, MDiv, MA, MSW, a priest in good standing of the Archdiocese of Omaha, from Sioux City passed away Saturday, January 7, 2023, in Sioux City of natural causes.

Frank was born June 13, 1967. A native of Sioux City, he graduated from Bishop Heelen High School, then received his bachelor's degree in 1989 at Briar Cliff College in Sioux City. Frank found his calling to serve the Lord and attended Mt. St Mary's Seminary to become a Catholic Priest in 2000. Frank was ordained a priest in the Omaha Archdiocese and FSSP and began his work. He constantly attended additional classes and training in his professional career and his work for the Lord. He achieved many additional certifications and further degrees. Father Frank continued his work for the Lord performing counseling and psychotherapy for Our Lady of Good Counsel Apostolate for Psychotherapy and Counseling helping others to live a fuller life. He lived a life of servitude to others and will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to have met him professionally or personally. Father Frank both wrote and spoke many languages and was very dedicated to furthering his religious and scholarly instruction, he was a very accomplished individual. One of his passions and specialties was serving the Latin Mass which will be observed at his Services.

Father Frank's parents were both clinical mental health providers, so he grew up learning all about the profession from an early age. His approach to therapy as a man of faith and a member of the clergy is an integrative one that deliberately unites the psychological, theological and philosophical perspectives that his unique educational and service path provided.

Father Frank is survived by his father, Joe Parrinello of Sioux City; his sister and brother-in law, Gina and Paul Rosenbaum of North Sioux City, SD; his four nieces, Tasha Rosenbaum and her husband Kevin Lotero, Katherine Rosenbaum and her significant other, Logan Whitead, Alyssa Rosenbaum and her husband, Edward Kroll and Hailey Rosenbaum; and his great nieces, Madeline Young and Kai Lotero. He was preceded in death by his mother Carole Parrinello of Sioux City.

A LATIN MASS will be at 12:30pm on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at St. Michael Catholic Church, South Sioux City, NE with Father P. John Audino FSSP of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church of the Archdiocese of Omaha, will be the Celebrant. Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. VISITATION will be from 11:30am-12:30pm on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at St. Michael Catholic Church, South Sioux City, NE.

Fr. Frank was the most devoted and intelligent priest I have ever met. I love him dearly in his new home in Heaven with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ our King. Rest in Peace.

I knew Fr. Frank for only 6 months, but he definitely left a mark. He was part of what I called "Mary's bumper crop". Priests ordained around the Jubilee 2000, from Mt St Mary's Seminary. The Church lost one of the good ones. I pray he continues his priesthood by interceding for us left behind. Please be assured of my ongoing prayers from him and his family.

My husband & I were blessed to have Fr. Parrinello as our parish priest while assigned to Rapid City, SD. He came over to our house many times for dinner. We really enjoyed Fr. and so did all the other people who became his church friends. He always joined our pro-life group when we had a outdoor rally for the unborn. It gave us much courage to see Fr. Paainello standing tall & proud among us as he was the only Rapid City priest to join our pro-life rallies at that time. We had a lot of respect & admiration for him. He was our favorite priest. We missed him when he left Rapid City,SD. Our hearts grieve for your family. Donald & Lydia

Father Parrinello is a wonderful priest and friend who contributed so much to our Latin Mass community here in Tulsa, to Catholic Charities and to our families. He helped train and encourage our scholas, our altar servers, and was always willing to give his time and work and his heart. He spent much time with my family, preparing my daughter and her husband for marriage, offering them really good religious education, and witnessing their wedding on a blistering hot Oklahoma August day! We have enjoyed his visits since he left but have missed him. I am glad he was able to be near family these last years and thank you all for sharing him with us! Our family have begun a 54-day rosary novena for the repose of his soul and for his family. Anyone is welcome to join us!

Frank, I was both saddened and surprised to learn of your son's passing. Please accept my sincere and heartfelt sympathy. What a wonderful son, priest and therapist. You and Carole were so blessed. May God be with you and give you comfort.
