Frank Prager

Frank C. Prager, of Greenwood Village, Colorado, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Virginia A. Prager, and by his three children and eight grandchildren: son Dr. Nelson A. Prager, M.D. (Diane) and his children James, Stephen and John, daughter Kristi A. Miller (Bryan) and her children Benjamin, Nicholas and Ann, and son Frank P. Prager (Kimberly) and his children Faith and Phillip. Frank C. Prager was born in Trinidad, Colorado, on January 25, 1926. The son of the late George and Bess Prager, Frank moved with his family to Park Hill in Denver when he was eight years old. He graduated from East High School. Frank attended the University of Colorado and graduated with a degree in Chemical Engineering in 1949. He was a member of the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity. During his time as a student, Frank grew to love the university and passed his love to his children and grandchildren. He married Virginia in 1955 and settled in Denver. Frank worked for the engineering and construction company Stearns Roger, Inc. and its successors for over 35 years, retiring as Senior Vice President of Petroleum, Petrochemicals and Mining in 1986. After retirement, Frank and Virginia spent their winters in Litchfield Park, Arizona, where Frank indulged his passion for golf. Frank was an elder at Wellshire Presbyterian Church in Denver. He was also a member of various professional engineering organizations and the University of Colorado College of Engineering Executive Advisory Committee. A private family service was held to celebrate Frank's life and legacy. In lieu of flowers, Frank's family requests donations in his name to the University of Colorado Foundation for the benefit of the CU College of Engineering or to Wellshire Presbyterian Church.
