Frank C. Salerno
Frank C. Salerno, 77, of Macungie, died peacefully on June 24 at Grand Strand Medical Center while on vacation in Myrtle Beach, SC. Born in New York City on January 7, 1929, he was the son of the late Frank and Celestine (Aversa) Salerno and brother of the late Arleen Visconti. He and his wife, Leslie, celebrated 37 years of marriage June 14. Frank lived in Brooklyn for 45 years, graduating from St. Michaels High School, and then serving in the American Army of Occupation, European Theater, after World War II. He graduated from New York University with a degree in Business Administration. His work career included office manager for Lion Match Co. and RCA Corp. From 1959 to 1975 he was chief administrative officer and director of purchasing for Radio Free Europe. He was a member of the Young Republicans Club and a founder and second president of the Young Americans of Italian Extraction, Inc. In 1975, Frank moved with his wife and son to Macungie to enter the executive placement field. In 1983 he established his own firm, from which he retired in 1991. He then served as president of Salerno Fund Raising, Inc. until his death. Survivors: Frank is survived by his wife; a son, Scott Brensike, his wife Debbie and two grandchildren, Ryan Scott and and Cara Lynn of Westchester, OH; a nephew, Scott Visconti, his wife Susie and two children, Sarah and Matthew of White Plains, NY and a sister-in-law, Cindi Fitzpatrick and her son, Matthew of Darnestown, MD. He will be missed also by his cousins and many friends and acquaintances. Services: A celebration of life gathering will be held Sunday, August 6 from 3-6 p.m. at the Lehigh Lodge building, 2100 Route 100 South, Macungie, across from Ancient Oaks West. Callers are invited to bring photos and memories to share with each other. On August 7, Frank will be placed in the columbarium at Arlington National Cemetery. Attendees should assemble at the chapel by 2:30 p.m. An honors ceremony will follow. Contributions: Flowers may be sent to the Lodge on August 6 or donations may be made to the Lehigh Valley chapters of Turning Point, the Arthritis Foundation or Forgotten Felines, these reflecting some of Franks concerns.

Dear Leslie,

I'm so sorry to hear of Frank's passing. I remember him as a very nice and friendly person to work with when we dealt with your fund raising company many years ago at the Santa Shop at Harry S Truman Elementary school.

Remember the good times with him. He will always be with you in your heart.
