Frank was a free spirit with a great sense of humor, a keen wit, and was extremely generous. About once a month, Frank would invite several friends to his house for a potluck dinner and game night. Frank loved gambling and it led to his being named the “Godfather of Black Jack” as his system of counting cards gave him an advantage over dealers in Casinos world wide and in 2002, he was nominated into the Black Jack Hall of Fame.
I met Frank through playing tennis and we played on many USTA tennis teams from 2005- 2020, mostly with the Arlington Men’s Team, and we both played with the Hackers group on weekends.
However, one summer, we both joined St Mary’s Men’s Team in Moraga , came in 2nd, and played in the Sectionals against the number one team Clubsport at Pebble Beach and Carmel Valley. Our team lost the match 2-1 but Frank and I won our match playing together.
We both attended Golden State Warriors games together when the team was in Oakland.
I will miss Frank as will many who played tennis with him at Hackers.
