Frank Scrio Obituary

Published by Legacy Remembers from Mar. 11 to Mar. 12, 2015.
Francis Frederick Scrio SUMMERVILLE - Frank Scrio, 57, of Summerville, husband of Diana McKissick, passed away on Monday, March 9, 2015 at the Medical University of SC. Frank was tragically killed by a drunk driver while riding his motorcycle home from work. Frank was wearing his helmet, as he always did, but was unable to recover from his internal injuries. Frank was born in Brooklyn, NY on October 23, 1957 to Rose and Sebastian Scrio. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Diana; four beautiful and loving daughters, Melissa, Krista, Ali, and Isabella; siblings, Diana, Salvatore (Jackie), Regina (Paul), Sebastian, Jr. (Linda) and Christopher (Christine). He was a proud and loving grandfather of Randy, Jocelyn, and Amaya. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Roseanna McCarthy, and he was the beloved uncle of many nieces and nephews. Frank was blessed with many good friends too numerous to mention. He tirelessly spoke out about and in support of those who could not speak for themselves. He was a voice for good practices in his workplace, and believed that anything worth doing was worth doing well. He was the living example of a standup guy. After working tirelessly at his education and job, Frank had recently earned his FAA A&P certification and had worked for Boeing for the last seven years. Frank was a giving and generous human being who helped anyone who needed a hand. He had a quick wit, giant smile, and enormous heart. He not only believed, but lived his life according to the credo to leave everything better than when one found it. Our loss cannot be overstated, for we have prematurely and senselessly lost a great person. His spirit lives on in all the goodness, laughter and support he gave to his friends and family. To honor Frank and to make the world a bit better than he left it, the family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to MADD or an anti-drunk driving charity or Francis Willis SPCA. Friends and family may call at James A. Dyal Funeral Home on Friday, March 13, 2015 from 2 o'clock until 4 o'clock PM. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at 9 o'clock AM at St. Theresa the Little Flower Catholic Church, 11001 Dorchester Road, Summerville. A memorial message may be written to the family by visiting our website at www.jamesadyal.com. ARRANGEMENTS BY JAMES A. DYAL FUNERAL HOME, 303 SOUTH MAIN STREET, SUMMERVILLE, SC 29483 (843) 873-4040. Please accept my condolences on the passing of Frankie.. I grew up with him....We had so much fun as children.. We used to play Skibble, I Declare War On____", stickball, leapfrog & even had a "fort" down the block, in the "dumps". So many happy, fun filled adventures.. His passing is WAY too soon. Please know that I will keep him & his family in prayer. May it comfort you to know that he is resting in the arms of "The Almighty".. A "great kid" & sounds like a "great & happy adult" Rest in peace my friend, Frankie. You may be gone ..but surely you are NOT forgotten..Your neighbor & childhood friend--Mary Jane

Frank was one the nicest guys I met at Boeing 7 years ago. Not one time did he not make me laugh! Always enjoyed his visits when he would come by, mostly just to say hi. I will truly miss seeing him and the beautiful smile I always got. Godspeed my friend.

To Franks family,
My prayers will be with you at this time. I met Frank at Boeing about 7 years ago, we hit it off right away due to the fact we were both from NY. We would chat a little whenever we bumped into each other being we were on different shifts in recent years. The one thing that I took to heart about Frank is he would always talk about how much he loved his family and how hard he needed to work so that they would have a better life. Frank was a true man in heart and will be missed. Frank will always be with you in spirit.

Dear Aunt Rosie and Uncle Buster and all of Frankie's treasured family I cannot put into words the sadness I feel for such a tragic and senseless loss. I pray that you all will find comfort having his memory forever in your hearts. Love Arleen

Diana, I am very sad to hear about the passing of your husband. I never met him, but I can call recall that day you spoke about how much of a great father and provider he was to to both you and your children. Frank was our neighbor and our friend--we can't believe that he was taken away from his loved ones so suddenly. He was dedicated to his family; he was a hard-working man who was always willing to give others a helping hand. He had a great sense of humor. The world was a better place with him in it. God bless all of his loved ones during the days ahead. Karen and Naomi Matyszyk
