Frank, you’re the best and always will be.
My kids Connie, Jayme and Jimmy would come visit you at your office and display room, at Frank Sinatra Specialties, when they were very young. They would move everything around causing havoc by playing with and reorganizing everything on your display shelves. You would pay them for the visit. You would then need to reorganize everything, putting things back in order. Almost a weekly occurrence. He would say, "I love it when they come to see their uncle." And he meant it.
Frank had a “Johnny Carson” sense of humor that everyone that knew him can attest. Even to the very end, he was true to form. As his brother-in-law and neighbor in Mt. Vernon, he called waking me at midnight, one day in March 2005 and asked, “Do you think you can get a priest for me tonight.” Father Tim, Frank’s high school classmate, got out of bed and to give Frank his last confession. Just before Father Tim left, Frank said with his little smile, “Hey Timmy, am I in.” Father said, he told Frank, “Yes, your in.” Frank died that night.
Anna Jean ( Sinatra) Surman, my wife, Frank’s sister, remembers and misses him dearly. Every time we drive past his house, or on his or wife Carol’s birthday, or even when Anna remembers some thing they did as Maggie and Nutsie Sinatra's kids in Glassport, and she even now after more than 15 years, sighs and says “boy, do I miss him.” Frank either called or would stop by and talked to Anna almost every day of his adult life.
Frank, you’re the best, and just knowing you still has an impact on all of us after all these years.

Jimmy
(only you and your brother Tony ever called me Jimmy)

For Frank:

You are missed my friend.

WEEP NOT FOR ME

Do not weep for me when I no longer dwell among the wonders of the earth; for my larger self is free, and my soul rejoices on the other side of pain...on the other side of darkness.

Do not weep for me, for I am a ray of sunshine that touches your skin, a tropical breeze upon your face, the hush of joy within your heart and the innocence of babes in mothers arms.

I am the hope in a darkened night. And, in your hour of need, I will be there to comfort you. I will share your tears, your joys, your fears, your disappointments and your triumphs.

Do not weep for me, for I am cradled
in the arms of God. I walk with the angels, and hear the music beyond the stars.

Do not weep for me, for I am within you;
I am peace, love, I am a soft wind that caresses the flowers. I am the calm that follows a raging storm. I am an autumns leaf that floats among the garden of God, and I am pure white snow that softly falls upon your hand.

Do not weep for me, for I shall never die, as long as you remember me...
with a smile and a sigh.

Dear Carol, I was deeply saddened to learn of Frank’s death. The precious love and partnership you shared with each other was as much an inspiration to me at age 22, when I first met you and Frank, as it is today at age 37. I always admired the many ways in which you expressed your affection for each other. My heartfelt condolences go out to you and your family. Wishing you peace. Love, Jeff

Dear Carol,

We are so saddened to hear of Frankie's passing. He was a terrific man, and we had so much fun with him over the years. He was the life of a party! I have so many wonderful memories of our times together -- going to great Italian restaurants and socializing with our friends over the years. I'll never forget Frankie's trips to Florida and his interest in temporarily joining a softball team while he was there. He always made everyone around him so comfortable. I know he was the love of your life. You two were the perfect couple with so much love and respect for each other. Frankie will be missed by so many people, but the wonderful memories of him will live on forever.

To my dear friend Carol,

My deepest condolences on the loss of your wonderful husband Frank. In the many, many years we have known each other, you have always spoken of your "Frankie" with love, humor and respect; that kind of enduring, deep affection is a rarity in marriages these days. How does one comfort a friend who has lost the love of her life, her best friend and companion? I don't know if that's possible. But, know that during this especially difficult time, I will be there for you. You have many, many friends who care about you Carol; don't hesitate to call upon us.
